Real Locations Behind Jurassic Park for the Film’s 25th Anniversary

In honor of Jurassic Park’s 25-year anniversary, you can explore the real-life places where the movie was filmed. Resorts are offering an exclusive day tour for its guests which visits some of the filming locations of Jurassic Park. The tour is led by Angela Tillson, a film location manager, who has worked on numerous blockbusters, including Jurassic Park. The island of Kauai is known as the “Garden Isle” for its verdant landscapes and colorful vistas, making it a perfect place to film any and all tropical scenes. Those who partake in the tour will visit the island’s most cinematogenic and famous spots.

Tillson leads the tour around Kauai, including a stop at Kipu Ranch, where guests mount an ATV tour to iconic movie locations. The tour also includes an exclusive stop to Manawaiopuna Falls, sometimes called “Jurassic Falls.” The waterfall is privately owned and is only accessible with a helicopter charter, just as seen in the movie.

The tour also stops by locations where “Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “The Descendants,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” were filmed.

At the end of the day, the cinema adventures don’t stop. Guests who wish to keep the movie theme going can book a stay in the Resort’s Presidential Suite, where George Clooney shot The Descendants.
